... το 1986, το ΝΜΕ κυκλοφόρησε μία κασσέτα που ταρακούνησε τα νερά ... η C86 έφερε τον ωμό, εφηβικό κιθαριστικό ήχο συγκροτημάτων όπως οι Mighty Lemon Drops, Bodines, Pastels στο μουσικό προσκήνιο ... πολλοί αποφάσισαν τότε να ξεκινήσουν fanzines, άλλοι έστησαν δισκογραφικές εταιρείες ... από αυτές τις πονηρές, με τα 7ιντσα και τα διπλωμένα εξώφυλλα στο νάυλον ... χο χο χο! ... η συλλογή εδώ είναι από LP στην ισπανική Nuevos Medios ... καλή ακρόαση ...

... back in 1986, british music press NME released a cassette that would give music a real shake ... C86 brought all the fresh and raw, adolescent guitar sound of groups like Mighty Lemon Drops, Bodines and Pastels on the front line ... many kids decided then to start writing a fanzine, others began indie record companies ... you know, the kind of ones with the 7inch singles in folded covers, nylon bags ... he he he! ... anyway, this compilation is taken here from an LP released by spanish label Nuevos Medios ... enjoy ...

This compilation was originally released, during the summer of '86, as both ann NME mail order-only cassette (NME 022) and a series of five concerts at London's Institute Of Contemporary Arts.

... κάπου δέκα χρόνια πριν, μέσα από το Marbles (mailing list των Tindersticks) κυκλοφόρησε η συλλογή Exclusively For Arseholes ... επρόκειτο για κομμάτια τα οποία το συγκρότημα είχε μέχρι τότε διασκευάσει ... πρώτη φορά άκουγα τότε τον R. Dean Taylor, πρώτη φορά άκουγα τον Townes Van Zandt και το μαγικό Kathleen ... το 7ιντσο το είχα πάρει πιο παλιά από mail order (απίστευτη χαρά τα mailing orders εκείνες τις εποχές), ακόμα θυμάμαι την πρώτη ακρόαση στο πικάπ ... ακόμα 7ιντσα ακούω ...

... some ten years ago, Tindersticks' mailing list Marbles people released a compilation called Exclusively For Arseholes ... 12 originals that the group had covered by that time ... it was the first time for me to listen to R. Dean Taylor, first time to get "Kathleen" by Townes Van Zandt ... I had got that 7inch a couple of years ago, by a marvellous mail order (pure magic it was to get such diamonds via mail order, back in those "baby internet" days), still remember the first time I put it on the turntable ... still being stuck to 7inch music ...

... Δύο αγαπημένοι δίσκοι σήμερα, από την καλύτερη για μένα περίοδο της κιθαριστικής pop ... Πρόκειται για τα Airspace! (Breaking Down Records, 1989) και Airspace II (Breaking Down Records, 1990), δύο συλλογές που κυκλοφόρησαν τέλη 80's στο Bristol για φιλανθρωπικούς σκοπούς (ε;;) ... Τα συγκροτήματα που συμμετέχουν είναι ότι καλύτερο είχε να δώσει η σκηνή εκείνη την εποχή ... Ψάξ'τε τα στο eBay για τριψήφια ποσά, ή πάρ'τε τα από εδώ, και δώστε κανένα φράγκο σε αυτούς που τα έχουν ανάγκη ... αμήν ...

... two of my top favorite records here, taken from the golder era of indie pop ... Airspace! (Breaking Down Records, 1989) and its sequel Airspace II (Breaking Down Records, 1990) were two charity compilations, released in Bristol ... artists participating here were the best people of the indie pop scene back then ... go for the vinyls on eBay (be prepared to pay 3-digit amounts for them) or download them here, and maybe give help to those who need it ... amen ...

... έλεγε κάποια στιγμή ο Gene Wilder στους αποσβωλομένους γονείς των παιδιών, κοιτάζοντας ψηλά και μακρυά, ένα παιδί κι αυτός ... το Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971) ήταν από τις αγαπημένες μου ταινίες στα χρόνια της αθωότητας (ακόμα αθώοι ήμαστε, ε;) ... το βιβλίο του Roald Dahl (1964) το διάβασα σε ηλικία που μόνο παιδί δεν ήμουνα ... το βινύλιο το βρήκα ακόμα πιο μετά ... και φαντάσου ότι οι πιτσιρικάδες θα μεγαλώσουν και θα θυμούνται την έκδοση του Burton, με τους Oompa Loompas να χορεύουν disco, break dance, και ότι άλλο ... μάλλον μεγαλώσαμε ... (η φωτογραφία εκλάπη, ο scanner δεν ήρθε ακόμα) ...

... once Gene Wilder says, astonished parents against him, himself looking faraway, being a child inside ... Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971) was one of my top favourite movies during the age of innocense (still innocent, aren't we?) ... I read the Roald Dahl's book (1964) in a period that I was anything but a child ... got myself this vinyl a lot of years later ... and just think that these youngsters will grow up and stick to the Burton's version, Oompa Loompas doing the hustle, break dancing and god knows what else ... (picture was stolen, scanner is not here yet) ...

jingle jangle pop! (μη με τσιγκλάς εμένα)

... κάθε αρχή και δύσκολη ... έχεις ένα καινούργιο παιχνίδι στα χέρια και θές να δεις πώς δουλεύει ... εντάξει, πλάκα έχει ... και άμα το μάθω και καλά θα έχει ακόμα περισσότερη ... υπ' όψιν, αναμένεται scanner εντός ολίγων ημερών, οπότε και θα προστεθούνε εξώφυλλα, ένθετα, σακούλες δισκάδικων, σουβλάκια, κλπ ...

... so,you have this new toy they brought you and you try to figure out how to play with it ... it's surely fun, fun, fun (fi fi fi) ... by the way, a scanner is on its way, so we will have a great number of record covers, pictures, garbage and naked record collectors, making this blog such a beautiful place ...

δύο flexi κυκλοφορίες για σήμερα, από τις αρχές των 90's και τη θρυλική γερμανική Blam-A-Bit Records ... το πρώτο μας έρχεται από τους Brighter και λέγεται A Winter's Tale (blam007, 1991) ... δε συγκρίνεται με τα αριστουργήματα που γράψαν στη Sarah Records, αλλά ok ... δεύτερο ανεβαίνει το επόμενο δισκάκι της εταιρείας, ένα split των They Go Boom!! (έρχεται πολύ πράμα) με τους The Cudgels, το The Jingle Jangle Pop E.P. (blam008, 1991) ... αυτό θα πρέπει να είναι και το πρώτο pop flexi που αγόρασα (α, ρε Pilgrim) ... το κομμάτι των Cudgels σκοτώνει!!!

this two more flexi releases for today, coming from the early 90s, by the legendary german label Blam-A-Bit Records ...first one is a Brighter's single called A Winter's Tale (blam007, 1991) ... in my opinion, this cannot be compared to their Sarah Records releases, but this is just my opinion, so feel free to fall in love with this one ... next up is a split called The Jingle Jangle Pop E.P. (blam008, 1991) from They Go Boom!! (lots of their singles on their way) and The Cudgels ... my first flexi pop diamond, i think ... the Cudgels' track is a bloody killer!!!
